Hey mom,
This last week flew by i honestly dont know what happened to it, we went to a four day seminar is what president torres called it. we had to be there in the mission office at 9 am everyday, by friday it felt like i was going to a job. but it was seriously the best four days of my mission, i learned so many things about this missionary work and how to do things much more effectively. so that more people get baptized, we may only have three or four investigators but we should be able to baptized all but three and in this seminar it showed us how we can do these things more effectively. we got back to our area at about 5 or 6 pm everyday so we didnt have much time to do things.but it was just enough time to put to the test the things we learned that day in the seminar it was quite an amazing experience. on saturday we only had time to make final preparations for my investigators wedding and then yesterday we had the baptism which is why i didnt get to email you yesterday. the weding went amazingly. and the baptism went even better, elder lopez my last companion came to baptise him. and left this morning for mexico, he was super happy to be able to be there for that. it was the best baptism i have ever had. afterwards, he invited everyone that went to the baptism, to his house for a little humble dinner it was amazing, it breaks my heart to see that he gives us so much even though he doesnt have much. so i have been super busy in these last days. i have felt the spirit so much more in my labor since i went to the seminar and we learned how to teach people not lessons, the object lessons help alot to be better at focusing on the people and their needs.
wow it sounds like you had a good 24th weekend. so did i, as for the things you want to bring down, the best thing would be any kind of shoes, we will donate stuff to the ccm. anything for missionaries, including gym clothes because some people dont even have enough for that. that would be the best and easiest thing to do, becuase with all the members i wasnt in areas that need alot, they have enough and i dont know who to give to.
this work is the work of the Lord, i am fortunate enough to be serving humble people in guatemala. i love these people, just yesterday, we were running late and it was running but at the time it didnt matter because i was doing the lords work and i knew he was protecting me and i had something to do, so it doesnt matter if the raining this work still needs to go on. i love how that can happen this gospel is true.
love,
Elder Spencer Karr
