Hey Mom!!!
All is well this week! this week i had the oportunity to go on exchanges with the assistents and it was cool being able to see how they work, they teach with object lessons, it helps the people understand way better, it totally inspired me to have better lessons, the rest of our week went by way fast and more fun because i practiced object lessons. our investigators that we found last week haven´t progressed because we werent able to find them and they dont want anything so we will just pass by once a week to see if they have time, and other than that we are going to be looking a lot for new investigators. we found one good one this last week but he got sick and wasnt able to go to church, but he said that this next week he will be able to come with us, i hope and pray that he will be able to. as for my other investigator hector he is getting married to his wife this saturday, i´m so excited for him!!!! after four almost five months of struggling to quit smoking he finally was able to do it and this saturday is the big day and monday the 26th will be his actual baptism. the refreshments and the baptism last week were little chicken salad sandwiches and a piece of cake, i dont know what kind it was though. it was a really good week, i love this work it definately is hard but worth it. yesterday i was invited to speak in another ward in the stake because they had a huge missionary work sacrament meeting. and they asked me to speak on working through the members, it went really well, i studied preach my gospel and thought about it a lot, but i only had five minutes to talk, i was the concluding speaker, i didnt have one single word written down, it all came from what i had studied. it was a really cool experience, it was a lot better than any other talk i have given probably. i was pretty nervious because i didnt know hardly anyone in that ward except like three families which are my favorite member families down here. once i started i wasnt too nervious. i kind of like giving talks now. :) i never thought i would say that.
wow its incredibly hot there, i´m now glad to be down here because it doesnt ever get that hot, this week it has been in the 70-80´s it was nice, it felt hot on saturday and it was only 82 or so. I´m soo happy that stewart with be home for awhile still when i get home, i´ll have to do cool stuff with him, even if i have to be with him and his girlfriend. ha ha he emailed today, his email was exciting to recieve. i forget where did sam ahlstrom go again, if i remember right he went somewhere in mexico.
well as for things to bring for the people down here, the only thing i can really think of is shoes, but that are in pretty good shape, because everything else is gettable for a pretty reasonable price like shirts for 50 cents to a dollar. but it would also be good to bring down a little bit of clothes for little kids but not a ton. and white shirts in general would be good. one last question so i dont have to think about it, what time does your flight arrive in guatemala.
thank you very much for all you do. me and an elder from nicaragua that lives with me talked about our moms last night and i´m grateful to have a wonderful mom that has always cared about me, and of course taught me the little things that we need to do in this gospel. i love you always. this church is true.
Love,
Elder Spencer Karr
